They changed the rules for concussions, then for the Brady rule, then the Rodgers rule, now QBs are SO protected...you can't compare the two. Montana was missing seasons with chronic injuries by age 30. If he plays another just 10 healthy years with that SF team, he likely wins another 2 maybe 3 SBs. And that was the run when the NFC was dominating, that elite, all time great Dallas team was stopping SF and Green Bay from getting through. Not a Niners fan, but...the GOAT discussion isn't just counting rings. The sport is night and day different from the 90s, much less the 80s and the Bears 46 or the Giants and LT, Banks...all them dawgs(Belichick's Defenses).

I suspect he's not pissed off about that because it happened by a combination of luck and opposition skill, not because they fucked up. With both plays mentioned here the emphasis is on how preventable they were - sometimes you lose because of your opponents, and sometimes you lose because of yourself, and Bill accepts the former but despises the latter.
