In 1986, NFPA® produced the award-winning video “Fire Power!” and collaborated with Jack Harper, a reporter from the Boston ABC affiliate WCVB, to narrate the story as the dramatic events unfolded. In 2011, Jack Harper and NFPA met again.
The film orchestrated a staged house fire in order to show how quickly fire spreads, the life-threatening conditions that develop, and the destructive aftermath.
In another demonstration, the same setup is used for the cause of the fire, and fire development. Once again, flames quickly take over the living room. This time, a residential fire sprinkler system activates and extinguishes the fire.
For more information about home fire sprinklers, myths about residential fire sprinkler systems, and more, go to www.firesprinklerinitiative.org.

I remember seeing the original 1986 film as a second grader. I wish the entire original 1986 film was available in DVD quality, and not just these little snippets mixed in with updated commentary from 2010.

NFPA, why did you cut out the best part of the video where the sprinkler controls the fire?

Look under "nfpafromvideotrainingdvd". You'll find it, albeit in poor VHS quality.

You need to take all the NFPA 20 books for fire pumps, burned them and start over. There are plenty of videos on my channel showing why.
