Love Deluxe is an unbelievably great album and its the only album by either of you that is in my top 10 of all time. For context I am a 1971 baby. #1 Off the Wall - Michael Jackson (1979). Its as close to perfect as you can get. Pure MJ. #2 What's the 411? - Mary J. Blige (1992). R&B with a hip hop edge. #3 Hard to Earn - Gang Starr (1994). My favorite hip hop album. DJ Premier's production is otherworldly. And Guru's rhymes are so underrated. #4 Love Deluxe - Sade (1992). Bone chilling soul. #5 It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back - Public Enemy (1988). The best hip hop album not named Illmatic. And the best year in hip hop. #6 Crush - Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (1985). I played this to death in 1985/86. Classic new wave/synthpop. #7 Aja - Steely Dan. (1977). Some of the best collection of musicians you will hear on any album. A perfect blend of jazz, rock and soul. #8 Of the Heart, Of the Soul and Of the Cross: The Utopian Experience. PM Dawn (1991) Creatively off the charts. Infectious. #9 Mama Said Knock You Out - LL Cool J (1990). Marley Marl's best production and LL's best vocals. #10 Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin (1975). Rock perfection.
