There are more ambient sounds in menus. For example: • Car Lot: distant loud audio, and occasional tire screeching. • Shop: paint spray, welding, and occasional pressurized air. • Safehouse: metallic clangs, static television, ventilation hum, and occasional oven bell. • Main menu: sound of an impound lot, and occasional reverse beep from a truck.

In my opinion, the best Ambient Sound is the very first which is Central Rosewood's. It just brings you back memories and also brings you closer to your childhood. I remember when I was turning the menu's music off and then in the quick races I was picking the second drag race which starts somewhere close to Rosewood's Stadium and was ending at the other side of Rosewood's highway, quite close to the bus station. Whenever I was playing that drag race I had the car's volume down from the engine and I was losing on purpose just to hear that ambient sound. I was getting close to the finish line, but I was returning back and then again forward and then repeat just to hear the sound. When I was done with the race I was delaying on the menu with the informations and statistics just for the sound. Memories...

Imagine just sitting outside a restaurant somewhere at Rockport, admiring the place and the city itself, eating your favorite meal in peace. Then all of a sudden some crazed street racer just plows through the pavement, tearing thru objects and almost hitting you. Followed by dozens of cops, blasting their sirens, hitting everything on their path, including the table you were sitting on, just to catch up to the suspect as they leave the area. Completely ruins your day doesn't it?

Superbe vidéo ! En 2005 quand j'était plus jeune je trouvais que le son à partir de 3:32 me fessait des frissons à entendre une sorte de mal à l'aise s'installer en moi ! D'ailleurs a 5:03 et à 12:31 ces petits extraits proviennent de Need For Speed Underground 2 qui seront ensuite a nouveau réutiliser dans Need For Speed Carbon au niveau du Duel Canyon légèrement modifiés par un bruit de grillons ! Et si tu cherches dans Need For Speed Underground 2 ce son prends la route vers Jackson Heights et tu pourras très bien l'entendre ^^
