Phong Nha Cave is the most typical scenic spot of the cave system of the Phong Nha - Ke Bang landscape complex.
Phong Nha was voted as one of the most beautiful caves in the world with 7 criteria:

So far, scientists have surveyed 44.5 km of the cave, but the average visitor can only enter 1500 m
The inscriptions carved on the cliff in the ancient Champa language show that Phong Nha cave was discovered by the Cham people in ancient times when this land was still under the Champa Kingdom.
In 1550, Duong Van An was the first person to write about Phong Nha cave. Phong Nha Cave was carved on one of the Nine Peaks of the Nguyen Dynasty Citadel in Hue.
In 1824, Phong Nha cave was conferred by King Minh Mang as "Effectiveness of God". In addition, the Nguyen kings "God Hien Linh".

Experiencing many great changes in stratigraphy and geomorphology, the topography of this area is extremely complex. Phong Nha-Ke Bang displays impressive evidence of Earth's history, helping historical researchers understand the geological and topographical history of the region. The Phong Nha-Ke Bang area is one of the unique and beautiful models of complex karst tectonics in Southeast Asia. Recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage Site according to geological and geomorphological criteria in 2003, and recognized by UNESCO for the second time as a World Natural Heritage Site with criteria of biodiversity and ecology on March 3. July 2015.
