Ngati Porou Spanish descendants to reconnect with homeland

Descendants of Manuel Jose have been waiting for two centuries to hear where they're from -- and now they have. A group of them were at the airport this morning, preparing to fly out to Spain to reconnect with their Spanish origins.

I've asked this question on the Manuel Jose Facebook page and no answer,I'm hoping some one see's this and can help?is there any connection with the Manuel's up north and Manuel from the east coast?
