This song became quiet famous with the great interpretation of Oumou Sangare. This version sound more traditional.
Saa Magni means "The death is not good". I might put subtitles on this song later.
The recording was a bit special because Issa Dialo ( bass ngoni ) lost 2 persons of his family while the 10 days workshop we did there with some of my students. That's the reason of the introduction. God bless them...

This is absolutely fantastic! But the song "Saa magni", isn't it written by Oumou? I heard an interview with her when she said she wrote it for a dear friend who died.

I asked to Yoro Diallo and he gave me confirmation that this is a traditional song. Oumou maybe wrote some personnal lyrics, but it's based on a much older song
