"Little" Huddersfield's ground was designed by HOK |(now Populous) a USA based multi national architectural practice with it's European Headquarters in London. It was built by Sir Alfred McAlpine and the basic arch design was later adopted by many clubs - and was also the inspiration for the Wembley Arch, often credited to Norman Foster, and as said below, also the Sydney Olympics. It was the first of it's type and won an RIBA award when first built. Bolton used the same Architects and it was built by Birse Construction.

However they made sure people were re homed and the street was cleaned up as well as sports facilities for the locals kids to use. I've always liked Huddersfields in all honesty, looks quality. Better than our gaff in Leicester. Edit: little bit in love with this lass, just a smidge. 😂

Huddersfield’s ground is gorgeous! The author must be a supporter of their rivals or something. I hope he reserved a proper amount of chaff for that.

I went to Grimsby for an away day (well, evening) last season. Strange walking past a bunch of houses, and then suddenly there were the turnstiles. The supporter coach was asked to go down this side road with parked cars on both sides, and it looked like there was barely room for a regular-sized vehicle. The coach driver thought it was a joke. Also, when we got in, there was no food for us (keep in mind there were only about 200 of us) and, ironically, a sign proudly claiming “Away Fans Matter”.

From a Grimsby fan your comments are spot-on. Even for a home fan it's a dour experience. But at least the owners haven't bankrupted us by paying for a new ground we can't afford!

@@VVellieManI think the experience has improved a lot recently from a Grimsby fans perspective and your spot on about the new owners not splashing cash we don’t have on a new stadium. It’s not the prettiest but I think it’s got character 😂

Sit in the upper stand at Blundell Park and you can see boats going past. It's a pretty great view. I really like the ground, but I've never gone there for an away day so maybe that would change my opinion.

Or when the wind comes from the North Sea, it gets biblically cold (which I found out the hard way in 2020)

fun watch - wouldn't necessarily call any of those stadiums ugly, just stadiums needing some more care. (and thanks for the AI ad trashing Spurs a bit (i'm a Spurs fan from across the pond) - hopefully will see a trophy lift this decade!!))

Huddersfield's new stadium is similar to the Amex, except the area behind each goal are larger than those at the Amex.

2008😒 ! But in Ange and Davies we trust! We will prove that you don't have to be owned by an oil country or an American investment company to be successful. British football needs you Neve! Keep up the great humour, and please keep on finding fridges throughout the UK! COYS!!!!!

UTA Arad's stadium in Romania is a mini Huddersfield one (13000 seats) , but for us in Romania it's fine, given that we've started to have five star Uefa stadiums (plural) only since around 2010. Though compared to the other 11 five star stadiums it might be the worst.
