Are there life jackets in VN the fishermen can wear, Troy? Maybe this will save lives. Please mention this idea to Linh's dad. (Tell Linh I will pray for her dad's safety at sea.) Even though they are poor, their lives are simple and happy. They seem to be rich in love, which is all that matters. Thanks for making Linh smile. Another feel-good video. Don't look at the house with Western eyes, and conclude Linh's family is well off. I just did a search on Thanh Hoa properties, and a 4/3 bed/bath upscale villa can be had for 1.5 billion VND (~$65,175 USD) in today's money. Linh's family home would have cost a small fraction of that, and built up with pooled resources over the years. They could definitely be cash poor for everyday needs despite having a paid off home. Donors really added a lot of stability to their lives. As Linh mentioned, fishing and farming are risky endeavors even in good times.

Food taste a lot better when you cook with wood it got a smoky flavor .When I was a child my grandmother on my mother side use to cook with wood ,even when she had a gas stove,She prefer her wood stove ,from morning coffee (breakfast) to dinner.brings me a lot of memories ,from watching these videos,I cherish them.

I was really able to get a good sense of the lifestyle along with the environment. The part about the risks of fishing and farming brought a lot of perspective. Another donation from Janny. Trinh and Lan will probably be the way they are regardless of persuasion or coercion, which may reinforce their behaviours. Both of them have to put their shoulder to the wheel on their own accord. Is this the personality of a child born in the middle? Right now, Ling will have to continue to put in more effort to support the family. Hope she does not get tired of this. It is awesome to watch the family coming together for a meal. Rice cooked using wood fire tastes special. Yes, I almost forgot to mention the handwriting. I was taught to write in this manner and took years to make it more simple, efficient and legible. Glad to see there is structure in the approach to doing school work. There is a study table with books neatly arranged. Ling does her work with Trinh and tells the youngest that she needs to do her work and there is a time for play.

I remember that one time Harald Baldr did a 30min vlog from a hill tribe in Thailand - still (IMO) his greatest moment - probably because it was so outside of his usual nonsense. Tell Ling's Mom I'm a parent in America raising 2 boys. My oldest boy is very studious and hard working BUT his little brother is just the opposite lacking in ambition and very lazy. So enough though ling's Mom and I are literally on the other side of the planet from one another some things are universal. We both have to contend with a lazy kid! they have so many kids, my parents are chinese but born vietnam. my father had 11 in total of siblings and my mother had 12 lol... so many children. but they seem so happy so much more happier than kids in the west.. money is important, but we shoudlnt teach our kids as if it makes us happy.. because these children are happy and like real children even though poor, i live in the UK children are trapped unhappy.. even though they are better off.. nobody should feel bad about being poor.. the kindest and best people often are poor.. rich are often miserable and stressed... i see their life and i wish parts of mine was more like theres... and i guess they wish theres were more like ours, but truth be told.. thats the lie they should be taught.. money shoudl be used for food nesisities and to help others,, enjoy life. but real value is not in money.. i wish people could always remain like these kids, happy innnocent and honest kind humble... these people are such beautiful souls linh is a beautiful soul.. but i see something in that girl that shes not happy about.. i see it in her eyes there is sadness.. breaks my heart she is a really good girl man i love asian i need to move their with my wife and kids... the west is not for human consumption.... is this ling the same ling 25kg selling inthe market????
