My rendition of Thomas Mapfumo's Nhamo Yamakandiwa.
Nhamo Yamakandiwa is one of Thomas Mapfumo’s golden oldies which was part of the soundtrack of my childhood. I’ve always love the tune. It says, “We have experienced the hardships of taking jobs working contours in fields (doing whatever it takes to earn a living). How can we have a good living if we do not/are not willing to work? My mother warned me about poverty if I don’t work hard. My father told me that I have to work hard to get rid of poverty”.
