No he's not soft. He's the best at what he does and a lot of what he does doesn't look pretty but he helps win games. His role isn't to score the ball. It's to get rebounds especially offensive ones and protect the paint and call out the defense. He's excellent at those things and they make a difference. In the times he played against Philadelphia last season in the playoffs he shut down Embiid and Joel hasn't been the same since. When he comes back he will be the anchor for the defense and the value of that is incalculable. Give the soft crap a rest.
