This game got some things really right that EA is still trying to catch up with. That backhand looks great. The arena life & presentation is better than any EA game to date. And they have group celebrations after goals. I'd like the see the 2K series come back to compete with EA and make both sides raise the compete level.

This isn't bad , but I have to admit that like PS2 Stanley Cup celebrations better . They show the players jumping off bench hugging each other when the final buzzer sounds and the visual reactions of the losing players like some of the players sitting on bench with their heads down , the other players with their hands on their sticks watching the winning team celebrate and the defenseman coming over to console his goalie . We can't forget the ceremonial handshake between the teams and the Stanley Cup being presented to the team captain and he gets his picture taken with the commish . I'm just a little surprised the new gen version didn't cover all that in their celebration .

Antonyo Hairston 2k got sued for not having the actual players in different leagues such as the AHL, or prospect teams. That's why they don't make sports games.

Yeah 2k sports decided to focus on nba and now it's one of the best sports games every year. But EA for some reason still makes a game for every sport and just half asses them. FIFA is so Indepth and dozens of modes and stuff, while like nba live and nhl feel like they didnt try at all

Nhl 2k9 is very arcade and basic game, with ugly player models, compared to NHL 2k10. 2k had to start almost from scratch, building a new engine with 2k9, so it's very rough and shallow. Not as shallow as NHL 8/9 or 10 from EA, but yeah, still shallow :)

I have this game on PlayStation 2 and I kind of like their celebration better than this one because it shows the players at center ice giving the traditional handshake and then the commissioner presents the cup to the winners and then they celebrate passing the cup around . Don't get me wrong , this is a nice celebration , but PS2 version is better .

When I select the load from the moment I put to play the game, it takes out my favorite team but I can not continue the game. Season mode is 1 season. Franchise is multiple seasons. Umm I imagine edit teams. Edit player in options.
