Armia was a decent bottom 6 guy. Really good checker and excellent against the boards. Had a good year, He'll be missed ESPECIALLY since they didn't retain Stastny. Mason is a far better backup than Brossoit, but expensive. Especially for a backup. Losing Armia would have had not as much hurt if Stastny was retained. Armia was solid. Hendricks is gone too. A good guy to have in the room and decent lower-6 centre. Jets need to do some work now that they have some space. GOT to.

Beagle and Roussel improves and stabilizes our bottom six, allowing guys like Horvat, Boeser and Pettersson to completely take over our top six and be the offensive catalysts we've always wanted them to be. I don't see why people have a hard time understanding this. I'm tired of seeing a revolving door of plugs in our bottom six. I'm glad we have some legit players now for the bottom six.

I know that STL won the cup in 2019 but giving up Tage Thompson is HURTING them right now. He had 94 points last year at 25 years old and he's only getting better and better. He got a well deserved 50 million dollar contract extension.

Patrick Marleau put up 2.02 points per 60 minutes. As a 4th liner, Matt Martin put up 1.80 points per 60 minutes. If you're not going to use him, yes it's a good trade for the Leafs. But seriously Babcock is going to have to realize at some point, that four lines of Russian-5 might not be doable. How long will it take Kapanen to get more assists in his career then Martin did in one game last season? Martin is more then a 4th line goon.

i agree with almost everything you have ever said steve lol bt saying komarov wasnt put in offensive roles is just straight wrong. he played on matthews line multiple times he played on matthews powerplay which only made the powerplay a bedtime story and as a huge leafs fan i am so glad to see him go way too many chances not enough production he slowed people down and im sorry but thats just how it was

^ He has a valid point. The injury that happened to Boeser last season was a freak accident. Had nothing to do with rough or foul play... In fact, Brock initiated the hit, Clutterbuck just hit him back... So why they (Canucks) felt the need to bring in scrappy players now, is beyond my intellect. They will regret this move later down the road. :/

I don't think the Boeser hit had anything to do with this. That was freak accident and Clutterbuck didn't mean to do it. But having Pettersson, Dalhen, Gauddette Hughes maybe making the team we needed some push back and going out to get a knuckle-dragger is no longer in so this was the next best thing. Canucks fan here, I’ve heard of the Nylander for Tanev comments. Never want to lose Tanev and he is on an awesome contract but he played with Tavares growing up and is from Ontario. What about Tanev and Sutter for Nylander or do Canucks still need to add a pick to that? I think it’s pretty close but I would add a 2nd or 3rd round pick if I really had to.

stevielikesdick I'm a leafs fan. I don't think we're trading nylander, he's important asset to the team. Part of the reason Tavares came to the leaf. Tbh I think you're overpaying but idk. Tanev for nylander might be enough maybe add first rounder. Only problem is that Tanev is injury prone so we might be hesitant to trade for Tanev. Tbh idk much about Sutter and Tanev to determine what's a fair value but I do think you're overpaying.

The Maple Leads lost as much as they gained. I know Tavares is supposed to be a great addition. But they lost serious depth with Komarov, Polak, JVR, and Bozak all leaving. That leaves for some awful depth on lines 3 and 4

Komarov was on the pp, he was demoted to the 4th line at the half way mark of the season. He was given a lot of responsibility and slowly lost it and was replaced. Isles, you picked up trash. Sorry.

Nick Nastos i dont think this is a fair assessment guys. Komarov has been a very dependable plyr over the past few years. Even this year he played a big defensive role. He did not have a good year offensively and ya missed a bunch of open nets in a row but i think thats prob a mix of decreased confidence and role he was asked to play. Before the big 3 were here he was one of the best plyrs sad but true. He will have success in the right role. Bottom 6 defe sive heavy game role. Energy character guy that players love to play with.
