Honestly, today’s game just proved what we’ve been saying all along: the Oilers are undeniably the best team in the league. I mean, we just beat the Bruins yeah, THE Bruins …who are like, the gold standard of hockey, right? So if we can take down a team that’s been a Cup contender for the past decade, what does that say about us? The Flames wish they could even get close to that level. They’ve been irrelevant for years, and beating a powerhouse like Boston just shows we’re on a whole different level. Oilers are clearly the superior team in Alberta, and at this rate, it’s only a matter of time before we hoist the Cup. So sorry, Flames fans, your little playoff hopes are cute, but this is what a real contender looks like. See you in June when we hoist lord Stanley for Ben in the great city of E Town

No not really, if we’re basing this off of Stu’s recent play. In his last 8 starts he’s won 6 and had a save percentage of .921. This season the league average sits at exactly .900, and anything over a .920 is considered an “elite” save percentage. In his last 8 games he’s also only allowed 18 goals for a goals against average of 2.25, while the league average is 2.86. Once again, anything less than 2.25 is considered “elite”. Tonight, even though he let in a goal (deflected by his own teammate I might add) on his first shot, he still ended up stopping 24 of the 26 shots he faced for a very respectable .926 save percentage. In fact, he has a save percentage of .920 or greater in 7 of his last 8 starts (the outlier of course being that game against Florida, however, I don’t blame the goalie when defence goes right out the window for both teams).
