As a Caps fan, we cannot go 25+ minutes with 7 SOG and expect to win. The offense didn't show up for a bit until the Ovi goal. We need to remedy this deficiency. Lindgren had been playing well for a while. This game seemed to be the hiccup he was due to have. He wasn't at fault for the goals he gave up. The defensive woes continue to be a huge problem for us. Therefore, I won't harp on that subject anymore. Montreal was able to pounce on our turnovers/missed defensive assignments/etc to score timely goals. Montembeault seemed poised with the lead. The goals he gave up, he had no chance to stop either of them.

Caps having a really poor season. Definitely hurts when stars aren't producing as much but it's just a mess in the D end. Poor coverage and not in sync with each other. I like our lineup. We have good players. Suppose we just ride it out tryna fix it and make a change in the off season.

If the Capitals are this bad against Montreal, their next four games are going to be really tough. I'd be surprised if they even got 3 points in their next 4 games. Thus, if they get 2 points or less in their first 5 games after the all-star break, when they were already a few points out of a playoff spot, it'll be time to trade Mantha, Dowd, Pacioretty, Edmundson, and maybe TVR or Jensen. And with Shepard and Stevenson both NHL ready at Hershey, the Caps need to trade Lindgren to one of the many teams that needs a goalie.

There is only one player in Slafs draft class with more points and that’s Cooley. Only 3 more points tho and Slaf has 3 more goals than him. I think Slaf easily passes him by end of the season because his play is elevating insanely. He started the year with like 2 points in 16 games and now is most likely going to end up with 35-40 points by end of the season.

Yes… that was a terrible decision. You could see his panic after the pressure by the caps forward didn’t cease. He couldn’t find an outlet due to waiting too long, and just dished a hail Mary back hand up the boards right to caps d-man🙄 in that situation when slowing things down gets you kinda stuck you might as well just flip the puck up right down the middle and hit the reset button, or rip it hard around the boards, or if thats not possible due to being stuck on the backhand then ice it… not pritty but you’re effed at that point anyway
