@@Cobra85291 Some of that is him being overused for his age. The guy is 34 now, and in the twilight of his career at this point. I don't see him coming back after next season for another year. A d-man at that stage should be on the 3rd line or even a spare d-man you bring in to rest other players or replace an injury. He's best used as a sheltered ice time veteran stabilizer, not a top line guy.

And what the heck was Schenn doing on that play?? It took him a good couple seconds to get his feet moving to try and catch Suter, but by then it was far too late. He should have had his feet moving the instant Suter got the puck. That delay and that hesitation cost them.

Myer's pass to Suter on the fourth goal was a beauty. Meyers had a monster game as well. We need to get Hughs fitted for a cape.

You know what the big difference maker was in this game compared to other games since the start of December? The Canucks didn't fall into a defensive shell after they got the 3-0 lead like they have in most games this season. They continued to attack the Blues' net and the goal by Suter the Shooter and the empty netter by Myers made sure there was no comeback song for the Blues, only a sad, sad song of failure and inadequacy. Had those 4th and 5th Canuck goals not happened, the Blues could have taken their momentum from the 3-1 goal and parlayed that into an eventual 3-3 goal and forced OT and won it in the 3 on 3, like the Canucks have done so many times this year. Hopefully they can pick something up from this game and handle more of their leads like this in the future. I'd say having Myers the veteran back did help plenty too, with 1g, 1a, not bad, and even an end to end rush where he seemed to take a little inspiration from his blueline partner, Quinn Hughes. Nice to see it on occasion, though he is better at staying at home and covering for the rare times Quinn gets caught up ice.

But it is a testament to the improved play these last couple of games that they hung on in spite of that and got the W.

This team is really motivated tonight. First back to back win since December 1st, awesome four minute penalty kill, Suter's shorty in the penalty, Miller finally scoring, and Myers assist for Suters, and him getting the empty netter after his suspension. What a game tonight, looks like this team really is back for real. Hoping for the Flames to lose in regulation tomorrow, and for the Canucks to win on Wednesday, and they we are in the 2nd Wild Card Spot.

Miller 2 shots. 1 lost fight. EP40 7 shots. 1 assist. Several tackles. 3 min less played. Worse line mates. So: I hope Miller just shuts up, knows his place (energy line) and that EP40 gets more minutes on the first line. Did not look good for Miller basically being KO 'd by Schenn. Boom. Straight to upper throat/lower chin. Hugely embarrassing this was all payback from Luke through Brayden No trade needed, but the future is all on Tocchet's flexibility as a coach and Miller's attitude. EP just does what he is told with the minutes and directions he gets.

Wow, what a shocker…Vancouver manages a win tonight, but let’s not kid ourselves. They’re still sitting at home in April, watching the playoffs from their couch, just like they always do. No matter how many times they try to act like they’re contenders, they’ve still got ZERO cups. Meanwhile, the Oilers are consistently in the hunt for the big prize, and we know what’s coming…cup contention year after year. Vancouver fans can keep dreaming, but reality is: they’ll never touch the Oilers’ legacy.
