What a game for Hughes, two sick sniping scores. He is literally the face of this eras' Canucks. Lankinen on the hand, improved big time, made great saves. What a win tonight. This is the effort I like to see. Beating the best team in the league puts a smile on my face. Hopefully this game will be the turn around for the Canucks to build motivation and confidence.

Though I think Demko has the better overall talent and experience, his injuries left him unable to really get himself game ready for this season, and Lank the Tank's been going strong all season, except for a couple of bad ones at the start of the year. Demko should be back in full Vezina form for next season though, if he can stay healthy.

So far, the previous 3 Canucks wins were against: 1st in Atlantic Toronto 1st in Pacific Edmonton 1st in Metropolitan Washington Team needs to play with this consistency every night. You can see on display that it's there. But all the negativity and sudden trade talk news destroys any confidence that any players have to keep momentum. Management and ESPECIALLY THE MEDIA should know better and block the noise, and let the players just play.

When his name's in the realm of guys like Paul Coffey, Bobby Orr and Brian Leech, you know he's generational. All 3 of those guys were generational talents in their respective eras.

Lankinen is clearly the better goalie for the Canucks right now... Let Demko very slowly play himself back into form (if he can), and explore possible trades for him too. This is a very good win, but it is only meaningful if the team doesn't pull a stinker the very next game, and actually builds on the momentum they should get from beating the #1 team in the league...

Demko is a Vezina caliber goalie when he gets going, So I can see why Tocchett would try to see if a string of starts might have gotten him back on his game, but Demko's just not able to get as sharp as he normally is with missing so much time with that odd knee injury he had. I'd say Demko's a solid backup this season, then next season, when Demko can get a full training camp in to get back to his normal form, we've got a legit 1A/!B situation on our hands.

@@gumbbbyyy And Pettersson missed about 7-10 days with an injury, right in the middle of a 2 goal game, where he likely would have added more had he not gotten injured. So that's trying to compare a guy who's been in the lineup the whole time to a guy who came back from an injury, so you're apples to oranges. Funny how the people who just mindlessly hate Pettersson are blind to his good play, and the injuries he's had to battle through this past year. I've not seen Pettersson do anything that conspicuously costs the Canucks goes in a way that's undeniable, but Miller, oh boy! He's done countless things that have directly and blatantly put him as the sole, direct CAUSE of goals against, all while only scoring a handful of points compared to what he SHOULD be scoring, and playing like a guy who just doesn't care. Also, 4 of those 7 points all game in ONE GAME, where he decided to play some hockey for ONE GAME. VS LA, 50% or more of the LA goals, and there were many that game, were DIRECTLY CAUSED by Miller coughing up the pick or not bothering to play defense and just standing around watching the game, WHILE ON THE ICE, which is messing up Boesser and Suter, who can't manufacture offense when their centre is just drifting about being half a player.
