Carbs has this team believing. I think the long term plan was life without Ovi. They seem to be there already. His leadership really did help shape this team. After losing some offense the first two losses, Carbs restructured the lines and it’s paying off. The dude can coach

How did the Caps re-build a good team this quick? I wasnt even expecting them to make the playoffs this year or be a very low seed at best

Really good farm team. With Hershey bears constantly being a good team in the AHL and back to back calder cup winner, the Caps had a lot of good prospect that's playing on a good team sharing a similar system with the big league. Caps never really traded away our future to stay in contention. Also, we had a lot of low seed 1st round steals over the past decade.

Chychrun and Dubois changed the team. Chych is probably the best shooter defensemen in the game. And Dubois is a strong 2 way center that gets dirty, really helps to stabilize a team

Our (former) GM is an actual wizard. He made some fantastic trades, Chychrun, PLD, LT, Mangiapane have all been great for us.

Message to the rest of the NHL: IF YOU WANT TO BEAT THE CAPS, YOU BETTER BE ABLE TO SCORE GOALS OR SHUT THEM DOWN, OTHER WISE THEY WILL BEAT YOU WITH THEIR GOAL HIGH POWERED OFFENSE! Teams don't fluke their way to a 17-6-1 record! Their record against top 15 teams is very good!

I really hope PLD can get a good highlight-reel goal sooner or later, and that really would be the confidence booster for him. He's playing really good hockey, but man just can't get it to the net.

Caps defense is pretty shaky again this year though... they have to score 5 or 6 to win.

overall season stats say otherwise. They are mostly getting scored on by other good teams.

Not really, they're the 3rd stingiest team in the eastern conference. Only the Rangers and maple leafs have allowed fewer goals so far. Difference there is the caps have outscored those two by 26 and 31 goals. The past couple games have been a bit sloppy defensively, but consider the teams played too. You're going to let goals in against the devils & lightning.

Вашингтон хорош. В нападении. В защите пока многовато пропускают. Но хорош все равно. Многие себя отлично показывают, это хорошо, но много головной боли для ГМ, всех ведь потом надо будет переподписывать, а денег, как обычно, на всех может не хватить.
