Honestly I'm glad it was Blackwell over Bedard. Bedard has a long career ahead of him and Blackwell is an underappreciated role player type that deserves to have a special night like this!

You are comparing a rookie to a seasoned player, if you look at Bedards stats verse Mckinnons rookie stats hey are very similar. Bedard is best rookie not the best player.

⁠​⁠@@TheDarkerHorizonsthink about it this way. The way he’s playing on offense with the “talent” the hawks have around him IS godlike. Watch any hawks game compared to any Avs game and you’ll see that the Avs have sustained offensive pressure for most of the game. Compare that to the hawks, who almost never have full strength sustained pressure, and you’ll get your answer for the stat disparity. If you swapped him out on that Avs line he would probably have similar offensive stats. Defensively he’s not quite there yet, but offensively he’s already one of the most talented players in the league.
