Now I get the rule that was changed in 2014 saying that if you go for a puck and end up tripping a player it’s still called a trip, but replay that one and you can see his stick never made contact with the players skate.

A dive is intentional. You can clearly see he tripped. Should it have been a penalty shot? Imo, no. But I don't make the rules. Contact with the skates is not required to call a penalty shot since the changes. He made contact on a breakaway at the waist with the blade and thats enough. I wouldn't trust you to pour water out of a boot with instructions on the heel with a comment like that though.

I think the Canucks gotta break out of whatever mentality they're currently fostering. Even when they score the equalizing 3 - 3 goal there is no visible reaction of joy or happiness. Just some stone faced, mellow light fistbumping. I can say from own experience that this is a plague within certain teams that impact morale in every conceivable way. I think coach Rick Tocchet need to lock the boys in a sauna with a couple of beer kegs and keep them there until the singing and laughter can be heard all over Vancouver.

Not even disappointed about this loss. Canucks were battle hardened, especially in overtime. But in the end, Coyotes just took it all. Not gonna lie, this was one of the most serious overtime periods I've witnessed. That Hronek play and him getting the penalty shot kept the fans at the edge of their seat, exhilarated. Then all the excitement completely died when he missed, big fail. Should’ve done a slap shot. Not to mention, I've noticed a win/loss pattern here. Loss: 3/28 VS. Stars (3-1) Won: 3/31 VS. Ducks (3-2) Loss: 4/2 @ Golden Knights (6-3) Won: 4/3 @ Coyotes (2-1) Loss 4/6 @ Kings (6-3) Won: 4/8 VS. Golden Knights (4-3) Loss: Today VS. Coyotes (4-3 OT) They've better get themselves together when they get to Edmonton to fight the Oilers, they're no joke.

Nope. The Math is not on the Oilers side... The trend is the Canucks have been a 0.500 team since the break (almost to a T). Looking at the trend we should have had a straight loss tonight, and the fact we gained a point with the OT loss is actually bucking the trend in a positive way. Let's look at this: before this game, we were expected to end with 108 points with 4 games remaining. The Oil had 6 games left and would need to win 10 of 12 points for their remaining games to catch us if we continued the 0.500 trend. If the trend 0.500 trend continues, we'll beat beat the Oilers, lose to the Flames, and beat the Peggers. This will result in 109 points for us. The Oil have 101 points today and will need to win all their games left to tie us with 109. They will still lose because we have beaten them 3x already to win the series. Unless we tank our last 3 games, the Oilers will not catch the Canucks.
