When Reimer got a shutout in his first game as a Red Wing, they pointed out that only two other goalies in franchise history had started their Red Wing goaltending with a shutout, and one of them was also-current Red Wings goalie Ville Husso. So when the Red Wings led 2-0 late in the game against Toronto in Sweden, I was hoping that we would soon be able to say that four Red Wings goalies had started their Red Wings careers with a shutout, including all three current goalies. Unfortunately, that was not to be. But now that Alex Lyon has gotten the shutout in his second game as a Red Wing, I am curious: How many Red Wings goalies all time have shut out at least one of their first two games as a Red Wing? I am guessing that it would not be a very long list, but it would include all three current Red Wings goalies.

Fitzgerald had incredible lottery luck. The coach, and his “system,” are complete trash. They HAD Andrew Brunette, in line to take over from Ruff, but Fitzgerald allowed his friendship with Ruff to get in the way of reality. He truly thought that he would get Lindy the Cup that he never had, and allowed Nashville to poach our future. This team, has 100% reverted back to every bad habit that they had, BEFORE Brunettes arrival. Now, you can only dream what might have been. Devils MISS the playoffs, this season. Sad, but true.

@@noahsmith4115 Yeah, it’s always “it’s just an overreaction.” At what point exactly, does it become a legitimate problem? Is it at 5 games under .500? 15? Is it “overreacting,” in the fact that we don’t currently even hold a wildcard spot? On a team that many picked to win the Cup? Enough with the excuses already. There are serious, legitimate problems in NJ right now, and being complacent, isn’t doing anything. Is there time to right the ship? I suppose so, but point to me, exactly what is giving you any hope that will happen.

I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet. NJDs has some solid Talent to build on. Its just takes time.. As a Red Wings fan we're in the same mix just as you. this Atlantic division is a fking beast,, everybody's good. Look at all the teams that Florida had to go through last year just to get to the finals. Its a gauntlet. No wonder they were out of gas at the end.

@@celluloidtherapy5003 teams go through slumps. They can easily make the playoffs from here especially once they get Hischier and Meier back, which should be soon. Hischier is a massive impact player on defense and offense and is the literal captain of the team. You can see what missing him has done

@@noahsmith4115 You know, it just doesn’t ‘feel’ like a slump. They have been playing fairly poorly, since game one. W3 have reached a point, where we are *happy*, that they play a 60-minute game. That’s not normal. I haven’t seen anything, that even remotely resembles the team we had iced last season. I still, fully believe that a new staff, revved this team up, 100%. So now, they have a big, “honest” meeting with each other as a group. What will happen? In my opinion, *nothing*, because there are deeper issues here. Jack, not 2-3 days ago, called the team out, PUBLICLY. The response? The WORST game, that they have played thus far. So, it’s not *just* missing Jack, and Nico, as the problems seemed to be there, even with both players present. They are lackluster, play without any real emotion, and frankly, don’t seem like the hungry team that everyone was expecting to see this season. There has been nothing close to dominance, in ANY game that I’ve seen so far. For one of the Cup favorites this season, they now have a SIXTY percent “chance,” of even making the playoffs. This group desperately needs a NEW voice behind the bench, and a new system. December is practically here. I can see the same old story playing out: Fitzgerald waits TOO long to make a move, and we struggle to make the playoffs, just barely missing. Lindy comes out game, after game, with his cut ‘n paste list of excuses, and I’m already feeling exhausted by it all. I’m praying that i’m wrong, but something seems VERY off here…

Fitzy has a lot to answer for but the fans baby him t. Fitzy should get alot of heat for this pathetic team. Never seen a team fall off this much as the Devils have. Goalie and DFD like Carrier or someone like that are what the Devils need to trade for. How many times do the Devils system get exposed for the fans to realize that speed isnt everything.

I only saw the 2nd half of the game but the devils kinda looked like how the wings do on their bad nights. Just seemed really sloppy with the puck. Lyon did a great job in Sweden and it's good to see him go again tonight and get the shutout. Didn't have to face a lot of shots, but he stopped them all and that's what matters

And I’m sick of this girly goaltending, i mean are these men or boys scared to stop a damn puck??? Trade Vanecek and Smhid for Connor Helyabuck and call up a goalie in the AHL system to back him up! Anything is better than the 2 current bums on our roster! Timo Meier is supposed to make us intimidating but he plays soft smh! The defense is atrocious and soft especially Luke Hughes!
