It's a pleasure to watch Avs skating, what a smart and fast team. One of the best and indeed a frontline contender for the Stanley Cup. Big Val is a beast. Georgiev is a real deal as well. All around strong and capable team. Don't want my Kraken crew to face them again. Nevertheless, it's a treat to watch Avs play.

Doing what he needs to do out there, distributing the puck to mikko makar and mackinnon, holding the puck when he needs to, making the smart plays, solid defense, moving his legs. Vegas and San Jose are in competition for 1st place in the getting shut out category. Vegas goalie Patera deserved a better performance from his forwards and defensemen. Vegas power play 0 for 4. Passes slow, often overpassing and too many turnovers. At one point 61 had the puck and was standing right next to the Avalanche goalie. Not another Avalanche player within 15’ of him. He could had simply turned around and took multiple shots on the goalie before any Avalanche player would had got to him. He never recognized that situation and passed the puck to covered players in the center. Total situational unawareness.

@@soulknife20 This is true. The D has been oddly inconsistent and subpar at times this year, and has hung him out to dry on multiple occasions. Sloppy penalties can also start to add up and complicate things, especially late in the game. This being said, Georgie has also let in more than his fair share of softies this year.

True but I think Patera was excellent here. Two power play goals and a redirect from a teammate was all he let in. 32 shots stopped out of 35 against an elite team like the Avs is impressive. The game would have been way closer if Vegas stayed out of the penalty box.
