Good win. I think the fact they didn’t implode after being scored on within the first minute is a good sign they are trending in the right direction. Lots of places to improve on but they definitely played a much better game.

Adding to this, the most glaring issue were giveaways. Drai and Bouch in particular seem to like chasing games because they were horrible with giveaways. Easy fix, but it’s a persistent issue. Hope the new coaches can fix it m, and fast.

But I just find it funny that a guy, on a 35 goal 111 pace is considered on a drought or "funk of his career" as on person put it.

@@ryans413 I remember watching Hockey Night In Canada in 1973. The Islanders were in their first year. They only won 12 games. At that time that was the worst number of wins for an NHL franchise(later broken by the Capitols in 74-75 winning only 8 games). Harold Ballard was interviewed on TV. He said that he offered the Islanders some help but they turned him down. After that interview Ballard went to jail and the Islanders would go on to 5 Stanley Cup appearances in a row; winning 4 of them. I do not have to tell you what happened to the Maple Leafs since Harold Ballard took over.

First game all year the oilers ran all 4 lines throughout the entire game. Mcdavid / drai under 20minutes of ice time this game, also unheard of. Didnt mix and mash the forward lines either. 4man box gone, man on man defence back. No more brainless Dman pinchs that went the other way for an oddman. All of these are coaching related. Loved woodcroft, but his mistakes are shining pretty bright right now.
