At this point, I see no chance for the Penguins to be in the playoffs for this season. I look forward to eventually seeing a rebuilt team but I expect for the next few years they will be a non factor and repeatedly missing the playoffs (it happens to all teams eventually).

Nice work by our team! So glad Pickard made 40+ saves and we had a team shutout, too bad he can't be credited with it due to the minute that Skinner played after Pickard got hit. Also two players broke long goal droughts, Ekholm and Nurse, happy for them. I also don't understand why Pittsburgh can't score. We blanked them today and yesterday they lost 5-1 to the Bruins so they got outscored 9-1 in a game and I believe the game before that they got shut out.

Aging stars, not a ton of talent on the team. They should be in full rebuild but they've been stubborn to accept it and keep trying to patch over the flaws, but I think after this season it's done, would be shocked if they don't try and sell of anything they can. I hope Sid gets out of there as well, know he doesn't want to but he's very clearly upset about it all and he's doing the Pens no favors sticking around.

After Pickard was ran he had to go for Concussion protocols. So Stuart skinner came in to play the final 2 min before intermission. So it's considered a shared shut out because Pickard didn't play the full 60.

Not really. They're both great but Stu has more playoff experience than Pickard and he was also the one who carried the Oilers through that 16 game heater, allowing 2 goals or less a game in all except one of those. Both Oilers goalies are really young and the Oilers need to realize that instead of trading all of their problems away, they actually need to work on improving the assets they have. Something I think Knoblauch has done a great job of since he's come in. Compared to the first third of the season, this Oilers team has done a complete 180.

This penguins team has quit on the season. Crosby can't do everything and other teams are taking him away. Malkin is a shell of what he used too be. Letang is a turnover machine lately. Pressing to hard instead of making the simple play. Karlsson has been a massive disappointment along with graves. Fans can blame dubas all they want but at the end of the day the players have to execute and they are not. If dubas didn't anything wrong it was trading guentzel for b rated prospects. That was disappointing. This team is old and its showing. Problem is good young players don't hit free agency. Soo I don't see a fix. Time to tear it down and rebuild. This team is hard to watch and a embarrassment to penguins hockey.
