I have bashed Petry on more than one occasion this season, but I'll say Petry thank you for saving that puck on the goal line tonight against the Lightning from going over. I think overtaking Philadelphia is the only opportunity to grab that #8 spot as they appear to be playing the worst lately amongst playoff contenders in the Eastern Conference.

@JarradBruessel32 yes, that is true. He's now the tallest goalie in NHL history. Hopefully, he doesn't play in many of the remaining few and they focus on next season. I'm wanting to see the Wings make the playoffs again since it's been 7 years, but the team is still a long way away from being a contender. Their defense is an absolute mess.

Лалонд увез с собой в Детройт ключи от Тампы. С Купеом у них за два сезона личный счет 5:2 в пользу Дерека. Хотя эта игра была максимально плотной и равной. Детройт был заряжен на борьбу и все первые три шайбы забил с добиваний на пятаке. Шансы на плей-офф есть, особенно важная будет игра с Вашингтоном 10-го апреля. Детройт у себя дома должен забирать победу, иначе в плей-офф не попасть.

Тампа проиграла второй матч с Детройтом. Понятно, что Тампа практически обеспечила себе плей-офф. Но где принципиальность? Детройт сам по себе сдулся к завершению регулярки. Но вы и вдумайтесь - провести 92 игры за полгода. С разъездами по огромной территории+тренировки+жизнь под установками тренеров+зрители. А там ещё и в плей-офф играть на полный износ... И выиграв у Детройта, Тампа помогла бы Вашингтону.. Ну да ладно - совсем скоро плей-офф.

Какие 92 игры за полгода? На данный момент Тампа в этом регулярном сезоне провела 74 игры. Осталось сыграть еще 8. По ходу регулярки тренерский штаб может (и по идее должен) время от времени давать своим лидерам (особенно кому за 30 лет) передышку хотя бы в 3-5 игр, это называется ротация и лоад менеджмент. Эти лидеры в более-менее хорошем состоянии понадобятся в плей-офф. Детройту или Вашингтону деваться некуда, им нужно цепляться за каждое очко сейчас, чтобы попасть в плей-офф, но Тампе такая угроза не грозит, но Купер продолжает давать максимальное время на льду Кучерову (сегодня провел 23 с лишним минуты). Понятно, что Кучеров в гонке бомбардиров, поэтому и играет много, но уже видно в последних играх, что и Тампа на спаде, и количество травмированных велико и Кучеров давно не выглядит свежим. Всё это довольно скоро аукнется ранним вылетом из плей-офф.

I would really like to see Detroit make the playoffs already. It is up to them. I think they have the talent to pass up Philly for the 8th seed. The question is, do they want it bad enough. Not crazy about the coach though. So I guess we'll see.

Упорная игра. Не забывайте, что Детройт сам ведет отчаянную борьбу за попадание в плей-офф, поэтому наивно было ожидать легкой победы над "крыльями", тем более что Лалонд, отработавший 7 лет в Тампе, прекрасно знает систему игры Тампы, что и показывают результаты личных встреч в последние 2 сезона - у Лалонда явное преимущество над Купером по победам 5-2. К тому же Тампе сейчас не надо прям выпрыгивать из штанов - выше подняться в дивизионе они уже не смогут (до Торонто 6 очков), но и выпасть из зоны плей-офф тоже будет сложно (те же самые 6 очков от Филадельфии при 2 играх в запасе у Тампы). Весь вопрос лишь в том, с кем играть в первом раунде плей-офф - с Бостоном (что более вероятно) или Флоридой (чего Тампа наверное хочет избежать, так как игры с соседями будут максимально брутальными, при этом Флорида моложе, обладает более глубоким составом и по физике тоже перебегает и перебьет в серии из 5-7 игр).
