Mathieu has always been good; the only difference is, this year he gets to play with talented players. To put it in perspective, he's played 3 less games than Norris (42 - 45) , has 1 more point (27 - 26) and boasts a +7 to Josh's -9. And let's not forget, Mathieu desn't get on the PP...Josh has 5 PPG. Don't get me wrong, I'm a BIG Josh fan but Mathieu has played in the dark and even the brilliant writers don't give him any Ottawa Sun light. Mathieu is a brilliant skater (speed never goes in a slump), he will take the body, comes all the way back AND can finish. I also loved Bernard-Docker's game. He'll never hurt the Team, is a plus defenceman and can go if he has to. Lastly, what was the big difference last yesterday? Instead of posting his .890 Sv% Forsberg finished with a great .920. It's the biggest difference between winning and losing ans nothing to do with "systems" and "structure".

The Sens are 18-3 in games this year with a save percent .900 or better. Just shows how high we would be in the standings, if we even had average goaltending

@@JoshuaRenaud-im4wm Right on Joshua!!! What's fascinating to me is the goaltending of all 3 goaltenders was awful most of the year and worse when DJ was here. I'm not a big fan, but he dealt with bad goalies and KEY people missing from injury and suspension. Since the "brilliant" coaching change the winning iercentage is almost identical, they allow the 3rd most shots per game and the PP and PK are 5th and 9th worst in the League. Wasn't Jacques brought in because he is a defencive specialist with his "systems" and "structure"? Wasn't AlFredo plucked from from his perch as the greatest human that ever lived to take charge of the Specialty Team's? How are the Coaches doing so far. It seems to me the Ottawa Sun shines on them. When the Team wins it's because of the systems and structure (which no one can explain) but when they lose, it's entirely the platers fault. It's funny how works.

Love seeing JBD throwdown! Senators need more of that from their defence core. That's the part that's been missing from the senators defence for a decade. JBD and the K-train will have quite an impact on this defence core in a few years, no bite on the back end whatsoever which makes them way too easy to play against

As a Leafs fan...I never thought I would be cheering for the sens so soon after that sens kid did that slap shot and then after he realized there was no goalie in the net. The sens did a good deed today by keeping tampa away from the Leafs in the standings, propelling the Leafs even further ahead!

BROADCASTERS Grade Book -- ... F ... for a MISSED goal call, for rambling, and lack of color, and for SOME INCOHERENT BABBBLING about the PANTHERS .... Whom are NOT playing in this game here! ... UNREAL bad. ........... You can tell these guys are Canadian by the mostly bland delivery, a goal brings only a slightly raised voice, and by an utter lack of idioms, metaphors, cool slang, etc. IN FACT, the only idiom I have heard by Cdn. game announcers is -- 'He blew a tire.' ... Pathetic. It's as old as the hills, and lame to boot, as a kid I rarely used it, so dumb. ANYWAY - THE play by play MISSED THE GOAL CALL on Tampa's 2nd goal -- ALL because the PLAY BY PLAY goes '-- 'The PANTHERS who played on Saturday, are now trailing Ottawa by 3 .... and by the way play tomorrow night and are going across to Sunrise .. the PANTHERS .... ' ...... THEN he goes ... 'It's out front. He SCORES.' .... .... WHAT IN HECK is he talking about !?? THE PANTHERS ARE NOT PLAYING ... The Panthers, trailing by 3 to Ottawa.. ??? ... HOLY CRAP. That has to be one of the most thick skulled stubborn game plan attempts to respond to a 79-2 loss I’ve ever seen. Intense offence (great) but without ANY thought as to what happens IF YOU DONT SCORE AND THE SENS GET THE PUCK. No thought to play defense vs a team that everyone knows HAS GOOD OFFENSE. 3 of the sens goals were off the rush leaving vasi to fend for himself. That was pathetic just stupid. I don’t know if that was cooper (probably not) or just the players idea but Jesus. 0 thought as ti who you were playing against and implemented a stupid plan. Anyways let’s go Avs
