Ottawa needs a new coach, and they need it badly. Look at the pk in the first period. Absolutely attrocious, not to mention general positioning and play schemes. This is not a team lacking in skill on the bench. It's a team lacking in leadership behind it.

I can guarantee you DJ isn't telling them to play timbits style hockey. The problem is the sens best players have zero defensive awareness. The forwards on Ottawa are particularly terrible at playing in their own end.

Last season the top 4 forwards for each team in points had a +/- of Sens -Stutlze -3, Tkachuk -10, Giroux +4, Batherson -35 Leafs- Marner +18, Nylander +10, Matthews +31, Tavares -7 Leafs aren't exactly known for their defensive play but their top forwards still put the work in on defense. Debriincat was 4th on the sens in points but Im not counting him because hes no longer there. But he was a -31.

Gotta be honest, the Stars really f*cked up there in the beginning. We're lucky the Sens weren't fully rested, otherwise they wouldn't have crumbled so easily towards the end. A wins a win, but with otter now injured the boys are really scaring me. Gotta do a lot better against the Blues tomorrow.

DJ is a good coach, but may need a new voice. I'm a Leaf fan but I do like how Ott is building. Good pieces and just need a few tweeks. They work hard and not much going their way right now. Patients is hard for their fans right now but it will get better.

He's not good coach. Maybe he was a good assistant in Toronto but he's never been even a decent coach in Ottawa. As a fan I've been calling for him to be fired for three years now. I stopped watching last year out of pure frustration

Sen's penalty kill is an absolute joke. Three players charge the guy with the puck at the blue line leaving players from the Stars wide open to Forsberg's left side to get that goal. Forsberg let in some weak goals he had a terrible game. Something needs to change with the Sen's it's ridiculous

Running joke the Nhl right now is how long Ottawa has kept DJ Smith around. Apparently they want to rebuild forever. I can't even stomach highlights anymore, watching them run around not bodychecking anybody not picking up anyone in the defensive end. What a sad Nhl franchise. They need to bring up Mads Sogaard to stop a puck.
