Journalists love to talk shit in columns and ask stupid questions in interviews but then get all offended when someone calls them out on it. The media really do suck.

This is good stuff. Ask an adversarial question of somebody that just gave blood and sweat over the course of 3+ hours and this is what you get. I know the reporters are just doing their job in most cases, but I love the players'/coaches' responses. Hats off to them for showing restraint.

No one taught some of these interviewers that when someone doesn't want you there you leave. I was taught that growing up. Never sit there and argue with someone to stay at their house or their place. You're not wanted so LEAVE.
@yardgrid2 жыл бұрын
It's not their house. It's their place of work and they are paid to be interviewed. That first guy tried to act all alpha and looked like a pussy. "Have you ever fought?" "Yes. Are you challenging me?" "No"

I really loved going to Canada and hearing Canadians speak crap about Americans like Gretzky just did
@mrbig45322 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’s kind of funny but it’s even better that he spend 90% of his time in America, owns a team in America, and pays boat loads of taxes to the American government. The only thing Canadian about him is he was born there and played his early career in Edmonton where he wouldn’t even go back for special anniversaries or old timers games until one of the outdoor games was played with the Oilers and the NHL really pressured him into attending a skate around .He’s too smart a business person to think that he could make tons of money any other place on the planet and not have to give 60% of it back to a government in taxes , but if we keep this relic we have in office now for another term we may be all paying 60 % of all income to the government so all these illegal immigrants can come and get free houses, health care , and welfare benefits for up to 36 months without having to show anyone that you are even trying to assimilate to our culture and values, no they just are free stuff and could careless about the country they live in as long as the free shit keeps coming.

I'm not a huge hockey fan although I respect the sport immensely. But for someone who's not in the know are all players and coaches a-holes like this when it comes to post game interviews?
@TheLarry19932 жыл бұрын
Mainly they're not. Sure some of them are, like in every sport. But the thing is: Press asks you, you answer, it's your job. But many, like this guy in NY called Brooksie twists your words and he writes something "funny", what is simply not true and sometimes even offend players, coaches etc. And the next day they stand in front of you and "expect" you to answer politely. And I understand that these athlets get fed up with the press by asking the same questions, by pushing beyond your privacy and using your words to express somthing untruthful. As an European I love the game of Hockey, too. but at some point that has become a part of the game. In particular if you play on a big market like Toronto, NY etc. Same thing with Soccer over here.
@AC-gw4qu2 жыл бұрын
Edmonton's current coach (Jay Woodcroft) is the nicest guy in the world. He knows all the reporters names, gives full paragraph answers and doesn't let anything get to him. Torts has anger management problems and he takes it out on the press because they have to ask him questions as part of their job.
