Yes, the point at the top of the Jets’ logo is akin to a compass, signifying the True North brand/ownership group. There was a concept art of the current logo with 90’s colors that looked much much better

Floridian and a Panthers' fan here. I liked the original logo, but I love the current one. The Florida Panthers current logo and uniform is inspired by the owner's military service as an US Army Ranger. In contrast to the original logo, the current one is subdued but that's because it doesn't want to be an attention-grabbing emblem of the team but rather a stoic one; it captures the idea of "speak softly and carry a big stick." The military inspired shield also calls to mind that, just like a military unit such as the Army Rangers, the Panthers are a band of brothers. I especially love the awesome modified Floridian flag patch on the sleeve. In any case, I think that this current logo and uniform design will be around for a long while and not just because of the owner's own military service history but because of the team's own sports one; with the current logo, the Florida Panthers have won the Presidents' Trophy, the Prince of Wales Trophy, and the Lord Stanley Cup and I think that with the current logo, the Cats are going to establish their hockey legacy. Here's to the Panthers winning it all again in the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 seasons. Go Cats, go!

The Detroit Red Wings winged wheel logo will never not be a classic. As a lifelong Wings fan, I would be very upset if they evee decided to change it. Well deserved #1 ranking.

Specially when you know it's inspired by the first club who won the Stanley Cup 1893 the Montreal Amateur Athletics Association M.A.A.A Winged Wheel. The Montréal Canadiens where created 26 years later in 1909. Back in those days 3/5 teams were from Montréal (M.A.A.A. , Chrystals, Victorias ) the 4th was the Ottawa Hockey Club (Senators) and the 5th The Quebec City Hockey Club (Bulldogs).

Might be my bias as a former Yotes fan, but I think the Coyotes has the best logo in all of pro sports due to its creativity and cultural significance. It's a damn shame the league doesn't have a logo like that in their ranks anymore. Thanks Alex.

As a Ducks fan I glad they went back to the classic, but my only gripe is the triangle being small, it makes the new logo unbalanced compared to the actual original because the sticks protrude more than the original plus the gray shadowing, I miss it

I, as a wildly biased devils fan would love to see some more detail in the white space, such as a pitchfork behind the devil or some flames or something. I feel like so many people I know just thought it was a way of depicting a devil without being literally satanic, but the N and J are so nice. It feels too simple which is okay compared to other logos that feel too busy.

The "black circle" in the ducks logo is a hockey puck. Think about it, two sticks and a hockey puck..... If you think the two shapes behind the mask make it look a bit busy, it makes MORE sense to get rid of the triangle and keep the circle. I personally think it ALL is needed to make the logo work. I still think the original Teal version is better, but this one is growing on me. Now, if ONLY the Ducks actually played like a good team. They have like 10 under 25 hot young players, it's time the "potential" of this team is finally reached and they stop being in last place.

The Oilers logo is based on the 1970's symbol for Oil and in the 70's the lettering was orange.

the Winnipeg Jets logo is a nod to that 1948 RCAF hockey jersey old logo but they changed it and put the Jet in the logo and yes that is a compass needle pointing North for the Owners company True North . they explained it when they first showed off the Jerseys in what was it 2012 or 2013 i think that 1948 jersey is a red Maple Leaf in a circle the Jets add the Jet and compass needle point . i am a big Flyers fan my home team thanks for putting it 4th and there is reports the Hurricanes maybe looking in to a new look so see if it happens down the road

Best logo in the league is definitely the Wild’s. I’m not a fan of the franchise but it’s just perfect. I don’t understand how people can’t see that the shape is a bear, though. 😄 I absolutely agree on the Jets logo. Actually, I’d put it even lower. It’s an overrated logo. Too corporate-ish and it’s weirdly composed. Quite generic and just smacking that jet onto the leaf makes it feel like they couldn’t decide on which way they wanted to go. Both the logo and jerseys are in dire need of a rebrand.

Canes logo is amazing. Simple. Easy to draw. Obvious. And they have two other prominent logos, one which is actually on their primary jersey. Would have liked you to review the one they wear the most because the warning flags on the hockey stick with the outline of NC on it is amazing. Their actualy primary, the hurricane, is maybe dated but there's nothing like a logo essentially anyone can draw. It's an alright successor to the Whalers logo which was the best logo.... of all time.

Very few logos in sports can measure up to the Whalers! I think I would like the Hurricanes' home jersey logo more if they encapsulated it with something like a circle. The NC inside the flags' negative space is incredible, but I think the shape of the logo throws me off (since it's on the taller side).

@@TwistedWristerHockey those logos have a lot of details I like. TOR has gone into detail about what the new leaf means. That’s DAL’s best logo they’ve ever had. CBJ is the most patriotic. CAR looks like the hurricane symbol on the weather channel. The only thing I don’t like about the CAR logo is that the middle part isn’t fully attached.
