I remember being super impressed with how this game looked (as I did with any Mode 7-heavy SNES game) and sounded (like most SNES games honestly) but the gameplay was just ok.

That was 8 year old me. I was so excited for this game because I saw how it looked at a store and how it looked so much better than NHL 94. Turns out NHL 94 was the all time classic.

I remember you could score every time you shot from the blue line when you pushed something like Y or X, can't remember which one. The puck would fly straight over the goalies head into the net. lol!

I think that's what happened at 18:01 I just did a lob shot to eat clock and it scored haha

I hated this as a kid. The gameplay was terrible. It felt like a hockey game made by people who have never played real life hockey before. It felt like you were a hockey player who could only look forward and you never had any idea of what was going on where anybody was if they weren't directly in front of you.
