It’s a similar situation, checking a defenseless player right in the numbers a few feet from the boards. Technically those players (Mark Scheifele, Nazem Kadri) didn’t forfeit any salary as the games were playoff games. CapFriendly explained in a tweet: “Because players are paid per day during the season, and are not paid for post season days or games, they do not have to forfeit salary when they are suspended for an incident that occurred in the post season” In hindsight I should’ve stated the reason why in the video.

It's not his fault Evans has his head down and is more focused on playing the puck than watching his surroundings. You're in the NHL on a breakaway, common sense is to have your head on a swivel knowing that you have multiple guys aiming for you. Bet Evans won't make that mistake again.
