@DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiants their loss was something I anticipated. I don't know why, but quite often, the return of an important member of the team results in a losing effort. Benn was suspended for 2 games. Dallas won both games he was suspended. When he returned for game 6, I felt that this would cost them the game. As stated, seen this numerous times before. If Benn was not playing, they would have had a better chance. LV and Florida should be a great series. I've committed to the position that Florida is a team of destiny. I arrived at that idea after Florida won game 1 vs the Canes. I'm also not happy about the notion of Vegas getting a championship in their 6th year. But that's understandable as a Canucks fan still waiting for the sacred chalice to be raised at center ice after 52 years of almost. 3 times in the Finals, swept in 4, and two game 7 losses. Super frustrating to say the least. So I'm definitely cheering for the Cats to win to commemorate their 30th anniversary in the league.

GAA and save percentage are totally biased stats because it is a " TEAM SPORT" and if you took an average goalie and put him on a great team defense he will look way better than he actually is. If you took the average goalie and say put them on the Sharks last / this season who had the worst save percentage in the NHL it would make any "better" goalie look worse. I saw a Jordon Binnginton game where he gave up like 3 or 4 goals and he was pulled and I reviewed them and not single one was his fault in the game but someone who has no idea how to scout would think he was bad in the game.

Winning a championship in your 6th year of operations just ain't right. Florida on the other hand, is in their 30th year. The Knights team defense has dominated the series to the point the national broadcasters talk like Adin Hill is better than Bobrovsky when I personally view Hill like a 3rd string NHL goalie. It would be a great story if they come back but it is not realistic.

​@@DanRaidersWarriorsSharksGiants Hill has been solid, but I agree with you and I feel it's hard to compare him to even Broissoit since the sample size is so small and the defense has rarely buckled significantly. Compared to other goalies in the playoffs his shots against are fairly low and most of them come from low chance areas. Vegas defense, as you said, has been almost impenetrable. This final 4 was lame anyways imo, so I guess I hope for Dallas cause it'd be nice to see Pavelski shelf a cup before he hangs them up.

IMO the 2023 playoffs are having some of the best hockey I've watched in 50 years. The stick work and foot work across the board it seems are echelons above what we would see in the 70's and 80's for example. It's a very different skill and strategy game now and I think we're just going to see more and more McDavids as time goes on. Goons aren't even a factor anymore. That all said, it nags the question: why are we also seeing much better hockey even from teams who barely squeaked into the 2023 post reg ... aka Florida? I think if the league guaranteed each player the same base annual salary, plus any bonus paid based on their last season performance, we'd be enjoying playoff hockey all season long. Granted figuring out that base line could be tricky, but what do you guys think?

I bet on Dallas to win the cup after they lost 7-2 in game three against the Kraken. I almost bet on them again after they went down 3-0 to Vegas. Texas has room for at least two more teams, and it's the gateway to the untapped Mexican market. Florida already has two teams, one of which just recently won back to back Stanley Cups. There's no need for the Panthers to win. And Vegas winning the Cup is a less profitable outcome than Dallas winning the Cup. The best place for the Coyotes to relocate to is Texas. The NHL gets to save face, pretend that the whole Arizona debacle was Arizona's fault, etc. They have to relocate the yotes outside of Arizona, but if they leave the southwest, they'll look stupid. It'd be the Atlanta Thrashers all over again. Relocating a team from Atlanta to Winnipeg, is the equivalent of relocating a team from NYC to Antarctica. It's embarrassing, and you better believe that Mr. Bettman was shamed and scarred by the experience, and vowed to never let it happen again. If Dallas pulls off a reverse sweep, Vegas (not Vegas the team, but actual Vegas) will make a killing, and the league will profit. Arizona was dubbed "The Coyotes," for a reason. The goal is to cross the border. Central and South America is this big pile of scratch, and the NHL is Scrooge McDuck, just dying to do a swan dive right into the middle of it. But it's the NHL, so they'll probably screw it up. Or even if they don't, it's still game, and anything can happen. The stars really are aligned for the Stars. A Dallas Cup makes the most sense, and it's just a game at a time. It's not like they're storming trenches or clearing houses or fighting forest fires. It's just hockey. Figure it the [REDACTED] out, and just win the next three games. "Oh no, we're down three nothing" stfu, stop being angsty, and just go out there and take care of business. If you can't win four games in a row against a team that you've had three games to scout and acclimate to, and two of those three games went to ot, then you should probably hang up your skates. And then commit seppuku. Sidebar: I'm a Sabres fan. I [REDACTED]ing despise Dallas. If they lose, it's like I paid to jinx them. So I can't lose my bet. That said, how funny would it be if a Mexican expansion team won the Stanley Cup? Imagine if the Laughs made it to the finals, and then lost to a Mexican expansion team. Preferably at home. Calling it right now: Dallas is going to complete the reverse sweep. They have the advantage now. This game and the next will arguably be the hardest two games to win without their captain. _BUT THEY WON ONE ALREADY, HALFWAY THERE._ One more and the momentum will be on their side. Then it's only two more. After the sixth game Vegas will be rattled and won't stand much chance the next game, especially considering DeBoer's game 7's record. This makes for a way more exciting SCF: a team that swept a team vs a team that completed a reverse sweep. And for ratings purposes I don't think the league will see to it any other way.

I am tired of the play by play guys hyping up Hill like he is some top 5 goalie when he faces so little quality shots. Some people would think Hill is a better goalie than Ott or Bob with the hype they give Hill. It is like it needs to be explained to people that having a high save percentage or facing many shots both mean so much less when they are easy to average shots / saves. Hill actually faced more quality shots and looked way more beatable. I am not even saying Hill does not belong in the NHL but I would not want him as a #2 because he does not have the upside at #1.

Hill would not be playing had he been healthy. Quality is everything because quantity can mean nothing. I could ask you to put on a full goalie pads and to lay down on the ice in front of the goal and if I shoot it 100 times without ever lifting the puck off the ice on purpose the odds are you would make 100 saves without moving or standing. The Knights defense has controlled the destiny much better than any of their goalies. In game 3 I doubt Hill faced even 2 quality shots.

Even though I'm from Dallas and wanted the Stars to win this round; they're way outgunned by VGK. True, the Stars thrashed their way to a win last night, but the series will end on Saturday in Vegas- it's always fun to see the home team win in their own rink. Fantastic playoff hockey this year- never seen better!
