As someone who's edited videos those transitions are a copy and paste and would take a few seconds to do, each, in the edit. Sportsnet has a big budget I'm sure they can afford an editor that puts in a tiny bit of extra work lol

Your response was great, also as someone else pointed out, "I don't know what's more embarassing: that Marchand spent time to find that image so that he could post it to 'own' you, or that he keeps that picture somewhere easily accessible and handy in the event he ever needed to roast you". I (a goalie) had an egregious blunder this week where I foolishly decided I could beat the fastest guy on the ice to the puck on the boards by the left faceoff circle; I didn't and though we reached the puck at the same time, he managed to pass it and I was a solid 35-40 feet out of my net as the weakest guy on the ice had 24 square feet to shoot at. I screamed Steve's mantra at the top of my lungs on the way back to my crease, where I stayed for the rest of the session.

Steve, I hope you're feeling better soon! How do I feel about this week's episode? It was like watching a B movie where everything is a product placement and it's never done for a good reason. Or maybe like a 3D movie where they are always pushing things out of the screen for no reason. I get it, you're sponsored. The between "segment" placards are just too much. Next thing you know, SportsNet will team up with the NHL to use the board ad technology to place ads for Advil over every picture he's got in the background and place a bottle of Advil on top of every collectable he's got on the wall.

I've seen that happen to the Sharks once before. I got an ex of mine into hockey while we were dating. Sharks have always been her favorite animal, so she adopted San Jose as her team. She had me watch a lot of games with her to help her understand things better, and one of those games happened to be San Jose vs Washington a few years ago. It was almost identical, actually. Sharks were the away team, went up 4-2 with the empty netter, and then lost in OT. She was not a happy camper.

It was the Sharks-Caps game back in January of 2020. SJ scored with 1 minute left, fans started leaving, the Caps scored twice in 32 seconds to tie it, then won it in OT.

The Sharks have done it twice…score an empty net goal and gone on to lose, doing so 3 seasons ago as well. The ONLY other time it’s happened was in 1969-70 with the Red Wings.

Haula did not kick the puck into the leafs net. He kicked it into a leaf, who kicked it into their own net. The NHL is selective with the rules, who friggin knew. But it was really fun watching Murray push the goal off the peg 19 times.

If the last contact with an opposing player is a kick, then it’s a kicked-in goal. It has to be that way, otherwise people would be kicking in pucks off of defenders. It’s the same as if someone redirects the puck with a high stick and then it hits a defender and goes in. The last contact that the scoring team has with the puck has to be legal contact, otherwise the goal doesn’t count. Them’s the rules.

I have been watching Brad Marchand since the 2009 season. He is one of the greatest players to hit the Ice. He plays with attitude and skill. He deserves much respect. For you to get even some recognition from him as an NHL commentator/comedian is a good thing, even if it is somewhat offensive.

Tell Producer Nick to cut the number of rotations in the transitions in half and extend the whole thing by about 20%. Should be easier on the eyes. Also I like this form of sponsorship. Not overbearing and still gets the point across.
