The film's theme on widow remarriage is bold for its time though there were a few films like 'Duniya Na Maane', 'Sindoor', 'Aage Badho' even before. The first one hour is quite dragging and predictable. I thought it would pick up after the dramatic twist but in vain. The story only drags further as nothing more is left to be told. The film is worth watching only for the performances of Ashok Kumar and Meena Kumari but that is also nothing remarkable. Overall an overrated film.
