aykm!? with NHR 1.0 you could not be a resident already. With NHR 2.0, you must be a resident? I was sitting on the sidelines waiting to be a resident bc I figured it would have the same rules. So basically there was no way to plan ahead for this tax scheme? What can I do now?

Most of the applicants that went for the NHR 1.0 where new residents in Portugal. What is new that you have to live and work in Portugal.

You mean that we need to already be paying taxes before nhr 2 can be applied for? Can nhr 2.0 be applied for now? Or are the reqs still being formalized?

@@surfreadjumpsleep The NHR 2.0 IFIC was announced last year but did not yet pass parlament. So currently there is no NHR program active in Portugal.
