Richard I really appreciate everything you are doing and love going to you for help. It has always helped me prepare. However, I would like to point out there is not enough room to write what your opening statement would be because you only have I think 1500 words to cram in all that you can offer. You have to keep condensing down all the time. Just to help you going forward.

I currently work for the NHS and have been involved in recruitment. Your personal statement should primarily match the skills and experience set out in the person specification, not the job description so much. Discussion around the job description takes place during the interview. I think reasons for applying for the job and personal attributes should be limited to one or two paragraphs at the most. NHS recruiters need to know that you are capable of doing the job, they do not need to know your life story.

Here's hoping to my 2nd attempt to become an Apprentice Emergency Medical Technician. Started off as a band 2 at Stepping Hill in A&E in 2018 and after 18 months I'm now a band 3 working for south Manchester crisis response team. those jobs are usually put through their agency companies. Thats why they don't have the person spec on there, only the job description.
