महेश भट्ट जी की महान कृति और कुणाल खेमू का बेजोड़ अभिनय। कदम कदम पर भावुक कर देने वाले दृश्य। भारत के हर व्यक्ति को यह फिल्म अवश्य देखनी चाहिए। हालांकि राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार अजय देवगण को मिला और मिलना भी चाहिए परन्तु सही मायनों में कुणाल खेमू को राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार जरूर मिलना चाहिए था। वैसे पूजा भट्ट ने भी गजब का अभिनय किया है और बाकी सभी कलाकारों ने भी बेहतरीन काम किया है। ऐसी फिल्में हमेशा बनती रहनी चाहिए, जो हमारी आत्मा को जगाती रहे। महेश भट्ट का ये अंतिम निर्देशन है और यकीनन यादगार है। हालांकि अंत थोड़ा और समझदारी भरा हो सकता था। फिर भी हर दृष्टि से फिल्म अवश्य देखी जानी चाहिए। अलका याग्निक ने गाना पहले ही रिकॉर्ड कर लिया था वरना फिल्म चलते समय गाना गाना होता तो आवाज रुंध जाती और गा नहीं पाती- "गली में आज चांद निकला...." मैं तो कभी भी गुनगुनाता हूं तो पूजा भट्ट के किरदार को याद करके भावुक हो जाता हूं।t
