Mahalo for making this instructional video! I am re stringing my Tutu's Ni'ihau shell leis that are over 100 years old! Mahalo Nui!! 🙏🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

MAHALO NUI LOA!!! Hearing the names of each and seeing the tedious work it takes makes me appreciate my Ni’ihau lei’s even so much more. Also makes me feel so much more connected to my kupuna. 🐚 ❤🙌🏽✨

I cant believe that you put my spot on you tube! Been surfing, diving, fishing, and picking momi and kahelelani there for 30+ years. Many changes there now but still get shells mahalo ke akua. Thank you for not saying the name of the place or showing too many landmarks that would give it away!🤎🇬🇧

Mahalo nui loa! I have collected Kahelelani and Ni'ihau shells for years and never knew how to string them. This is the best tutorial and will recommend to my daughter who I gave the shells to.

i hope you keep up the good work i have shells from up north but no one to show what to do with them and getting to old to use the brain but when i see young carrying on the tradition it makes me feel good .

WOW! Now I see why those leis cost a lot, that’s a lot of work but we’ll worth it at the end. Mahalo for showing us how it’s done maybe one day I’ll try and make one.

Thanks soo much for sharing this. Please wear a mask to keep the very sharp shell dust perticles out of yuor lungs! You will not notice the damage you have done until years later and it’s too late!
