For those who don't know, this is Niko, a male Baikal seal. They only populate ONE place in the entire world, and that's Lake Baikal, located in Siberia, which makes them the ONLY fresh water seals in the world!.. They also happen to be the smallest species of seal, which makes them extra cute. 🦭💞 EDIT: Apparently, I've made a couple of errors in my post. Baikal seals are small, yes, but it's actually the ringed seal of Lake Saimaa that is the smallest species of true seal (which also means that the Baikal seal is actually NOT the only fresh water seal in the world). I apologize for the misinformation.
