We were up on the upper Niagara river today. We talked about the lower. Wish we had of gone there and given you and Antonio a wave. Nobody was catching anything where we were lol. Threw everything but the kitchen sink at em. Even tried my Stingnose spinner. You guys did well. Always a pleasure watching your videos. Cheers

I wonder if you would be this chipper if you slipped into the water. I love fishing too. You need to start catching some silver salmon. Not the brown ones! That is a very beautiful area though. What a great way to spend a day.

@@thundermistlures Thanks for those links. In this video, no doubt a beautiful location there. Looks almost prehistoric. I will say though, dang I would be wearing a life jacket of some kind. I almost fell out of my boat on a charter. Only thing holding me in was my two fingers, ring finger and pinkie that managed to grab onto my downrigger cable. Face just clear of the water watching the wire cut into my finger and it starting to bleed. Got my balance back and stayed in the boat. Point being? You never know. Oh, reason I slipped? Leaned over boat and the cutting board was on the ground and one of my feet was on it. Like a banana peel.

I tried for salmon today in the Lower Niagara on the New York side from shore and I did not catch anything but I saw so many of them jumping. I was using a spoon and I tried egg sacks. Do you have any advice on what I should do or any good spots to fish. I might try tomorrow morning. Thanks

...try fishing your lure deeper, closer to the bottom and keep your rod tip pointed down when you retrieve👍🎣

are you casting up stream or downstream? been fishing the whirlpool and have gotten skunked a few times
@thundermistlures6 жыл бұрын
avoid casting upstream....best not to retrieve your lure with the current, but rather, against the current, so casting downstream is better :)

How do you work the different lures in that river?
@thundermistlures6 жыл бұрын
best to work any lure against the current or 90 degrees to the current - just not with the current :)
@brandonmclean586 жыл бұрын
you had me confused, salmon in the rivers, in spring? How did I not know about this until now? ANyway, I was looking into getting some stingeye spinners until i realized they were $20-$40 a piece on amazon, yikes, I hope they are made with actual gold and diamonds.
@thundermistlures6 жыл бұрын
Hi Brandon...go to thundermistlures.com - they start at $4.99 - we can not control what prices other companies sell at - glad you wrote in because you are going to love using the Stingeye....works great!!

oh ok, yeah, Ill check that out. Is there a local store that sells them or do you have a store in st catharines? I notice you fish here often and thats where I live, I would definitely check you guys out if you have a place close by.

never point the tip of the rod right at the fish....its a recipe for a fish induced release.
