For example if you go back and listen to his cover of the A-Team by Ed Sheeran that is incredible as well. Niall is the kind of artist that picks up his guitar and just starts singing on his couch and can give you a better performance than those overproduced artists that have too much going on with backup singers/dancers, visual effects, and autotune. I've always loved his voice, but now he's gotten the chance to really put it out there. There's a real rawness and homey feeling to his voice and style.

This is one of the best cover songs I have heard for a very long time, but Naill changes this song to suit his vocal range and OMG does the most fantastic job. In my opinion, this cover is a testament to the kind of artist Niall Horan is. He took an already good and unique song and made it his own. The acoustics against his voice is so great. Sorry to go all "music nerd" on yo asses but I LOVE that he changed the time signature of this. Very rare that happens and it makes this version completely unique! And no, I wouldn't consider myself a massive 1D fan (they're ok, I don't mind them, just not obsessed) but Niall's solo career in particular is so lovely :)

This literally show how talented he really is and how 1D did little to appreciate his voice, he was definitely held back by the group, it probably show him a few things about performing and stuff but it did nothing to show his voice. You would expect great things from Harry, Zayn and Liam cause they were always at the front of the band, specially Harry, he was like born to be in the spotlight, but Niall and Louis have to fight for the right to be heard, obviously they're both popular, but the only thing you think when you hear their name is that they were in that boyband, you don't say: "I love the solo Niall did in this song" or "Louis really sounded great on this other one" cause they were always like backing vocals, specially in the first two albums, mostly the first one, by the forth you could hear Niall more, but I guess it was because Zayn took at step back in that one (probably because he already knew it was his last one), I don't like to include Made in the A.M. because they had to like cover the hole Zayn left so it was more like: "okay we're going to give you more solos just so people don't feel like Zayn was that important and we're missing him". I'm talking from the perspective of someone who isn't a fan of One direction, cause obviously the fans love their solos and know how many single lines each member sang on the albums, but for outsiders we're never actively thinking about Niall and Louis, I would bet most people don't even know their names or wouldn't recognize them if you show them a photo of them and it's because the group didn't take them seriously, it looks like they said :" oh do we really need five members? ok never mind, put those two in, they don't really matter anyway" when in reality the five guys are equally talented, obviously each one of them needs to work on different weakness, Zayn has a great voice but he's really shy, like he doesn't have the stage confidence that Harry has for example, I would think Liam needs to work a little bit on his attitude cause I've seen interviews lately and he looks like he's trying to portrait someone he's not, Louis has a different type of voice he might not be able to sing like Zayn or Harry and that's why people might think he can't sing, but obviously 1D music isn't made to show his voice off so he really needs to find the sound that suits him best to start showing what he's really made off, and Niall definitely needs to work on being more known as an solo artist rather than the other 1D member, he's a great singer, great songwriter, great musician in general, and he's doing the type of music his voice was made for, but people need to more about solo Niall Horan and all the amazing things he can do, so when he does this type of things is when you really can appreciate him for his voice rather than from where he comes from. I'm really glad One direction broke up cause we have 5 different guys each one of them doing great music instead of doing the same thing over and over again.

This is a beautiful version of this song. ... i always felt that Niall's voice was totally overlooked in 1D. He was never shown to his full potential, but at least we all get to enjoy it now.
