Omg he's so funny and I love these Actually Me interviews! And for that person on Quora, singers 'lose' their accent when singing because all singing is done on vowels and most accents come out in the use of consonants (and consonants are usually what indicates the accent or dialect, for example in Irish they don't pronounce "th", but since all singing is done on the vowel, we don't even usually notice it). Other than going by consonants, you can often 'hear their accent' when they simply choose a different vowel sound in a word than Americans are used to hearing, such as replacing the "a" of "chance" with an O....... ;)
