Nicely done, video. Well, looks more like film really. Nice shots. Nice shallow depth of field in a lot of the shots too. Is Neil, the guy in the video, part of "TheVideoVolks" or just someone that "TheVideoVolks" did a segment on?

Honestly, most years will be pretty easy to work on. They got more complicated in the 70's. But if you buy a 50's-60's bug even early 70's it will be fine.

Im curious to know. What is the top speed on a 1200cc? I live in california and as most know the drivers around here are crazy speed demon fucks, with no idea how to drive fast safely. The smallest motor I have had was at 1641cc and it had a bunch of pep and speed for its size.

The car looks awesome. Your vid really does the car justice. Check out my grainy, dodgy video of the builder Sandy backing the car off his driveway.

"It's lowered by about 12 inches..." What, do you dig a hole as you travel? No WAY did you lower the car 12". It had no more than 8" of body-to-ground clearance from the factory so you'd better redo your math on that one.

Lowered 12 inches???

i had a '65 bug, total POS, but that was 36 years ago, my first car. swapped the engine in under an hour by myself with just a floor jack and hand tools. traded it even for a '70 firebird, another POS, 2 years later, all i bought was new cars. currently driving my 7 year old smart, which is heavier than a '63 bug, smaller and has a 999cc engine, is faster and gets better gas mileage. has cruise control, AC and a 6 CD stereo...
@TheCrewesin10 жыл бұрын
smarts have no style at all total POS
@martspangenberg9 жыл бұрын
So in 36 years you've managed to end up with a Smart car? Your ex Beetle would probably think you're a POS as well after all these years.
@mrbadx199 жыл бұрын
Martin Spangenberg my beetle was probably crushed 30+ years ago, melted down and you're driving it now :-P
@martspangenberg9 жыл бұрын
+mr bad example in that case I'm still better off than you :-P Your car is made out of recycled plastic. Have a nice life man, seems like you're living it up...
@mrbadx199 жыл бұрын
Martin Spangenberg not many people can get a job that pays $20 an hour to play angry birds and casino games 57 minutes every hour, 12 hours a day, i run a huge furnace that makes sapphire crystals for the DOD. i get up once an hour and take readings, make calculations and make occasional computer corrections/adjustments. my only complaint is the power supply in the room, 360KwH, it uses as much electricity in an hour as my condo in a summer month, and kills all AM/FM radio signals, so i have to listen to podcasts.
