Agreed. I also like the original better. Four Tet pay too few attention to the harmonics imho. Their sounds is clearly dominating, reducing the lyrics to something that doesen't feel like it belonged there in the first place.

@Dylnuge its not indie rock, matter of fact im not even sure you can classify this as rock at all, I think its a more experimental type of electronica, there's so many altered sounds there combined with few instruments... I like to call it "intelli-tronica" or intelligent electronica... sometimes "electronica" gets a bad rep but this is some brilliant music IMO, someone who is really expressing themselves in an honest, artistic way without being afraid.

Does it really matter what genre you classify a piece under? I supposed I'd call it experimental rock, or indie rock, or whatever fits your catch-all not mainstream rock category (I'd say alt-rock is pretty mainstream now). When something is unique enough to sound genuinely different and not fit a category, most people will ignore it, just forget the genre and you'll find yourself enjoying music, and not just genres, a lot more.
