Just discovered the series; I think it's an interesting notation! I actually did some work to reverse engineer the rules, since it seemed simple enough: An expression in Numbers In Brackets Notation consists of a base number (which I'll call b for the rest of this) followed by an operator consisting of a series of "brackets". There are multiple kinds of brackets, but "normal brackets" contain a single number. - If the operator consists of a single (0), the value of the expression is 10^b. - If the operator does not consist of a single (0) but still begins with (0), remove the (0) and iterate the operator b times over 69. - Otherwise, evaluate the operator with the rules below, then replace b with 69. - Take the first bracket with a "lower value" than the one it follows, or if there is none, the final bracket, and replace it with its "evaluated version". - (0) brackets cannot be "evaluated". Instead, if the bracket that would be replaced is a (0) or if there exists a (0) before it, remove the first (0) and insert the "evaluated version" of the bracket before the removed (0) before the bracket that was "evaluated". A bracket has a "lower value" than another bracket if by repeatedly "evaluating" the bracket you can reach the other bracket. The "evaluated version" of a normal bracket (n) is b copies of (n-1). These are all the rules for the first 30 parts, at the end of which we reach "hyper-brackets", brackets containing operators, not numbers. So far by going beyond we find that ((0)) evaluated is (b), the first rule of hyper-brackets, and ((0)(0)) evaluated is b copies of ((0)). This suggests that the evaluated version of a bracket containing an operator beginning with (0) ((0)#) is b copies of (#) (where "#" denotes the remainder of the operator). This also suggests that if a bracket contains an operator not beginning with (0), its evaluated version is an entry containing the evaluated version of the operator (note that evaluation means different things in the context of brackets versus entire operators). These two rules take us all the way to the end of hyper-brackets.

After some testing, I found that the Main Rules below were incorrect and did not produce the intended output: - If the operator contains (0), take the first instance and remove it, and insert the "evaluated version" of the bracket before the removed (0) before the bracket that was "evaluated". - Otherwise, take the last instance of the bracket with the "lowest value" and replace it with its "evaluated version". These rules have been corrected to: - Take the first bracket with a "lower value" than the one it follows, or if there is none, the final bracket, and replace it with its "evaluated version". - (0) brackets cannot be "evaluated". Instead, if the bracket that would be replaced is a (0) or if there exists a (0) before it, remove the first (0) and insert the "evaluated version" of the bracket before the removed (0) before the bracket that was "evaluated". The comment has been edited to reflect this.
