Ma'am thank you so much for the most wonderful explanation of this scene. I could relate about what you said about Olivia. I feel sad for her too because she has lost almost everyone she loved and she yearns for an emotional support in her life while gold diggers like Malvolio exploit it and other suitors lust her for her beauty and money. Nobody is actually in love with her soul. The saddest part is even Sebastian doesn't mind marrying her only because she is beautiful and rich. I personally love Olivia more than Viola maybe because that's my name 😅 but jokes aside, mostly because in the Elizabethan times she was the woman who was making a difference by living as a woman in power and running the entire household without the interference of a man. It's praiseworthy how initially she didn't care about the society and stuck to her decision of remaining unmarried. Her reasons might not seem practical enough but still she showed resistance and defied the norms in her own way. Also, women even today are termed as characterless and other derogatory slangs for expressing their feelings but Olivia boldly does it and I am proud of her because she listens to her heart and not what patriarchy expects her to be. Yes, she is melodramatic but we know the upbringing upper class ladies had back in those days and they were trained no better than delicate flowers too fragile. Anyway, this seemed like a long rant on my part but I just wanted to share my views on this with someone from a very long time. Thanks a bunch again for all your guidance ♥️

Ma'am I had a question from a previous scene... Was Orsino's growing love for Cesario at the psychological level due to her feminine qualities (as he is praising her smooth lips, shrill voice, etc.) or there is anything related to homosexuality between them here? Thank you so much in advance ☺🙏

This is a very pertinent question। Yes, i guess there was a natural affinity between the two
