I bought a Blue Streak in 1972 (yes, I still have it) and after I got the intermount adapter and a Weaver 4X scope on it, I was able to get some amazing groups with it. You're right about it having plenty of power for rats.

The original Sheridan Model C Blue Streak was one of the various pump guns I had in my teens. Mine was purchased in 1972 and other than the Smith & Wesson 77A which was purchased some months later, was the best pump gun I used during those early years.

I love this one the best classic air gun in my eyes. I tryed to buy one of those from my buddy for a couple years as a teen . Unfortunately I asked him when he came back but someone took it or had sold it while he went to the military. It was a very good and strong air gun it was difficult to find pellets for it in the 90s that for sure we didn't get to shoot it as much as we had liked. Very nice find. We only pump it 3 pump for target. It was perty strong💯👍✌️🎯🍻

I had just acquired a C9A 20 . It is borderline unpumpable so great compression, cocks and shoots properly but nothing exhausts. The barrel doesn't have any restriction and I don't hear any air loss while pumping. I assume the inlet of the valve is restricted.

Could be the exhaust valve is stuck or the hammer isn’t hitting it properly.

@@WalnutandSteel I think the inlet is seized that would account for the high almost unpumpable condition. You can hear the hammer bouncing like an old pinball machine. I recently had a 1377 in a similar situation. The teflon nylon plasticy whatever valve would gum up. Speaking of which I'm currently fabricating a 1322 brass breech w/14 in. barrel and matching length compression tube (17 in.). I cut/welded two tubes together to work from and have tube and flat stock coming. The intended end result a higher comp. carbine of my own wondering mind lol

​​@@WalnutandSteelYes the inlet was gummy so all should be fine unfortunately the pump handle linkage to pushrod pin had sheared in half. Both halves were still in place but I'll need to get a replacement.

I bought mine in .20cal back in 1972. When they were Benjamin / Sheridan, the quality went down.

I rebuilt my Benjamin 392 that I purchased in 2000 and I’m getting 570 FPS with a 15.4 grain Daisy Hollow Point pellet. Does this speed seem slow to you too for this gun? I only pump 8Xs and no air left in the chamber. I also store it with 2 pumps as recommended by the manufacturer. It shoots great and will keep 5 pellets inside of a penny at 25 yards scoped but still…the velocity seems low. I did check it with my FX chronograph and my Caldwell chronograph and they both gave me the same FPS. Thanks for all your time and sharing your knowledge and passion. Stay blessed.

I also had a 392 about 8 years ago. Over my chronograph at eight pumps with a 14.3gr pellet it produced 670fps

Gotta Get a Yellow Square Box of Sheridan 20cal Pellets Nibs There The Best They Hit Hard are a Different Shape Than Regular 20Cal Pellets I’ve Shot Jack Rabbit With Mine on 8 Pumps It’s Like Hitting Them With a 22 LR

Hi Nibs , speaking of grub screws. I just bought a pair of Diana P five’s. The triggers are atrocious. In your mod you used a #4-40screw. One would think it would be metric. I’m first going to try an M3 screw, they are very close in size (tiny with really fine threads) . Besides I couldn’t find any 4-40 set screws locally. I’m curious, how did that screw ‘feel’ when you installed it ? It is threading through plastic. Thanks

No comparison really. The old Sheridans had great barrels that resulted in excellent accuracy. I still have a silver streak and man it’s sweet! Also had a modern Benjamin 392 that I sold because it was never accurate, very disappointing.

At 20 yards my Sheridan does better than that for sure. I will say they are pellet picky

@@WalnutandSteel H&N baracuda in 13.58 grains. I also have some “crow” hollow points I bought back when I got the rifle. Didn’t shoot those worth a darn. Main reason I put it in the closet and forgot about it. Kept it with me through a divorce even. But your YT got me thinking about it. Sure isn’t a ton of choices for 20 caliber but there is some. I got lucky with my choice in pellets. Thank you sir for my new found plinker
