Nic Jones' version is, I feel, the definitive one. The perfectly integrated interplay of superb vocal and guitar is without equal. The voiced intricate rhythm, with subtly added half-syllables, complements his wonderful guitar playing. A classic gem.

This is superb. As is Sandy Denny's version. Plus, check out the version by Pamela Morgan.

My introduction to folk music (in fact the very first folk song I heard when I was 15, so 15 years ago) was Jim Moray’s version of this song. I’d say that he’s on a par with Nic when it comes to this song

I adore Nic Jones and listen regularly to his first 3 albums. That said I think Chris Woods' version of this is the best I ever heard.
