I always found it ridiculous that you get NO points if a plane that you damaged crashes.. In my opinion, if you put loads of damage into a plane to the point that it's on fire or smoking and then it crashes, you should get "vehicle destroyed" and even a kill if the pilot is still in it. It's so unfair when you do all that damage and then you get those coward players who ram their plane into the ground when they know they've lost the dogfight so you don't get the kill or destroyed points

hey Nic, rather than replacing two of your main guns with the 20mm, try taking the armored fuselage, and then going full right spec. that way you keep the original 4 primary weapons that fire from the nose, and its much easier to hit targets, both planes and infantry, and you have more DPS. the 20mm are too hard to use, and not that strong to justify picking them. the only problem with this build path is that you lose the radar, but you can do without it. see if it works for you ;) it did for me. (by the way, i was very sceptical of buying bfv at first, but by watching your videos i got jealous and really wanted to fly in this game, so in a way, you made me buy bfv :P ) cheers

Niccaman that G2 is so great for pulling back on throttle, and the faster moving bullets are great for fighters because they fire from the center. Switching between guns when overheating is also really effective, I’ve found G2 also out turns the spit Great vid tho👍

You are so right. The physics for the Bf109 in this game is way off. They were known to be flown straight at high speed - at high altitude - and then would swoop down and engage the enemy with a burst of fire on one pass and then head back up to the higher altitudes. This way they had distance and speed on their side. They couldn't afford to get into a dogfight, they'd lose. The only country that produced planes that could outmaneuver the Spitfire was Japan. But they were practically made of paper and could get shot down way too easy. Everything changed once the P-51 Mustang entered the war.

the earlier versions of the 109 outperformed the spitfire in almost everyway including turning. i dont play this game so dont know if the e series of 109 is in the game but those would be capable. the later versions like the g2 in this one were a bit faster but would be outturned. alot of people think the spitfire was slow tho but it was actually very fast

The bf109 would have an edge over early spitfires in negative G manoeuvres but in the spitfires with the later variants of the Merlin engine the bf109 was outperformed in every way

@@lucasbrooks5177 not the engine was the problem. It was the way how the got the fuel in the cylinder. The germans used Fuel Injection, which doesn't care much about G Forces. The british on the other hand used Carburetors on the early Spitfire, which didn't like the negative G Forces

By 1945 the K4 as arguably the last 109 was still highly competetive against late war allied planes (according to Iwanow and Green, who worked individually from each other and basically gathered the same data about the late war planes)

At this point in the pilot meta, the g6 is just kind of terrible as opposed to the g2, even air to ground wise. Once you master the g2 main gun, you can very accurately mow down infantry, while not sacrificing your air to air power. Also, the rockets are great for countering the stall tactics currently prevalent in the dogfights.

so far stall tactics is about the only thing working for me, especially as a bomber. I dont have a tail gunner in the mosquito so thats about all i have left to do. But it seems like people are adapting to that too. On console you can't rely on teammates to help you because 9 times out of 10 they're garbage.

There’s 4 kinds of ground troop players. - campers players that prone in one spot. - aggressive players that attack hard and smart in gun fights. - builders players that only build and rarely shot. Hey Niccaman, I love your flying videos. I just wanted to add my two cents regarding the G2. It’s become my favourite plane, despite getting just shy of 1000 kills in each the G6 and Spitfire VA. The rockets on the BF109s makes them an absolute dream for shooting down bombers and fighters who tend to bail. In fact, I prefer the G2 with the nose & wing mounted cannons to any other plane. I use the G2 a lot lately. You should try those rockets against other airplanes. They deal a huge amount of damage compared to the rockets of a spitfire. But the spitfire rockets are better for infantry, especially on fjell. As always: Very nice video. Love to watch them :)

this is personally one of my favorite planes in the game, I use the 20mm just before ROF slows due to over heating and then i switch to the machine gun or the secondary gun ASAP, and use it until its about to over heat and switch back to the 20mm, which is usually cooled down again. keeping a continuous line of fire that just doesn't stop makes TTK so quick opposed to letting the first gun over heat or slow down before switching. Missiles + continuous line of fire takes a bomber down in 2-3 seconds flat, and gives cowardly pilots who crash their plane upon engagement less time to crash.

I was playing with the Spitfire VB with a wingman yesterday and an AA tank was camping at their spawn so for most of the game me and my wingman had to stay on our side of the map. We were able to keep the skies clear of bombers an stukas, but a bf109 kept trying to fight us and running back to that damn AA tank as soon as one of us got behind him. It was so annoying.

Nicc, you should try the G2 with the default weapons. They're 4, 7.62mm guns (like the left tree on the g-6) and they're really really good for anti-air and are my favorite to strafe infantry with. On the specializations if you go left you get increased fire rate and then you can go to the right and still get the automatic leading edge and the rockets. It's absolutely my favorite. It almost feels like flying the VA in terms of damage, with better maneuverability, and rockets to snipe camping AA.

The main cannon on G2 is the same MG151 20mm cannon that's on the pods as well Irl Spitfires were much superior when it came to dog fighting, and vertical maneuvers and lower stall speed than the 109s Also, you don't need additional physics to execute Boom and Zoom, go high up, find a target and wait for and opportunity and go in a dive, dounce on the target and go back up and repeat, Boom and Zoom is one of the most basic yet effective enough tactics, try to use the sun as well as a way to hide yourself when diving on the target

During WWII, the only two countries to use .50 cals were the US and Russia (although the UK used some because of lend lease). I think you mean 50 mm cannons when talking about the Bf 109.

Hey mate. There are no 50mm guns. Max. was 30mm in common. Not includes any Prototypes. 50cal.s is something about 12,7 mm which is an heavy MG. Late 109 used one 20/30mm MK and 2 13mm MG.

Eligos but not in bfV with the fw 190, it would suck so much. The climb rate is worse than bf 109 at this altitudes and top speed such as turn rate would only be better over 3 to 4 thousand meters (way too much for bf V). If Fw 190 comes into game it's an air to groundforce fighter not air superiority or boom'n zoom. If the Fw 190 Dora comes into the game, this would be the air to air fighter u r lookin for in the german tree. It would have the 20 cals of the g2 and its main gun and rockets, bombs etc. it was one plane of the greatest varieties when it comes down to weaponry fittet to it. Only to mention one, the luftwaffe mounted "flamethrower", if I remember correctly, on the plane to spray an aerosol/fuel in tge sky and set it on fire. That would be cinematic! Imagine a dogfight with a spit on ur 6 ready to set up the kill and u turn his whole screen into a wall of flames. Airbrakes, stall a bit, a slighty turn, and shoot the burning brit^^ (No offense guys, spitfires are beautiful but I love the strangler aka Ta 150 aka Fw 190)
