It's always a good idea to look for common factors which might be eliminated ("cancelled") before proceeding with "the hard part" (e.g., rationalizing a denominator containing radicals). In this particular case, recognize the recurring factor of √25 in each of the four terms in the problem. Thus... ((√75+ √25))/((√75- √25))= (√25(√3+ 1))/(√25(√3- 1))= ((√3+ 1))/((√3- 1)) Eliminating the common factor makes the steps in rationalizing the denominator radical simpler (less cumbersome) and less prone to error.

There's an easier method. (√75+√25)/(√75-√25)= (5(√3+1))/(5(√3-1))= (√3+1)²/((√3-1)(√3+1))= (4+2√3)/2= 2+√3

It's funny because I used the same method before watching the video and was puzzled at the step they took. I solved the entire problem in my head it was that easy.

The goal is to solve using axioms, identities, and theorems because at the higher levels of math, your success depends almost solely on your abilities in algebra. For instance in calculus you might be asked to find the integral of a repeating radical. Like ((((sqrt(sqrt(sqrt(....(x)))) dx And if you dont know your laws of exponents, it's going to be really hard to solve these problems. Things like factoring may seem like a pain in the a** but try finding derivatives without it. You will end up dividing by zero and that isnt good because you might think the limit doesnt exist as Xi approaches Xf. But good job to anyone that can quickly solve and simplify rationals with radicals.
